by Fan Ying and Zeng Xueying (Party Building Department of China Energy Engineering Corporation, Hydrogen Energy Company (Google translatio)) On October 20, the second phase of the "Qingqing Hydrogen-1" China Energy Construction Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park (Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integrated Project), the world's largest integrated green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol project, commenced construction in Songyuan, Jilin Province. Upon completion, the Songyuan project will have an annual green ammonia production capacity of 600,000 tons, marking a new stage in my country's large-scale wind-solar coupled green hydrogen-to-green ammonia industry, moving from demonstration and verification to commercial-scale development.
Hu Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Jilin Province, announced the commencement of the second phase of the Songyuan project. Ni Zhen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Energy Engineering Corporation, and Chen Qiang, Secretary of the Songyuan Municipal Party Committee, attended and delivered speeches. Zhang Zhaoyi, Mayor of Songyuan, presided over the event.
Ni Zhen stated that China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) has always regarded the development of the hydrogen energy industry as a crucial focus for fulfilling its strategic mission of building a strong energy nation and a new track for focusing on its core responsibilities, developing new productive forces, and promoting high-quality development. CEEC is actively striving to be a pioneer and leader in the hydrogen energy industry. Based on the Songyuan Phase II project, CEEC will adhere to innovation-driven development, win-win cooperation, lean improvement, and safety as the foundation. It will play a greater leading role in industrial development, demonstrate greater achievements in integrated development, build stronger advantages in forging product competitiveness, and adhere to stricter bottom lines in safe production. CEEC will ensure high-standard, high-quality, and high-efficiency project construction, working with all parties to make the Songyuan Phase II project a landmark achievement in cultivating and expanding new productive forces in Jilin Province, and making greater contributions to serving the construction of a strong energy nation and promoting Jilin Province's accelerated development into a "national green energy industry highland" and a "green liquid fuel supply base."
Chen Qiang stated that China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) has been deeply involved in strategic emerging industries such as hydrogen energy, consistently ranking among the top tier in the national new energy sector. It has solved a series of world-class challenges, established a complete hydrogen energy supply chain encompassing production, storage, transportation, refueling, and utilization, and set multiple world records. The efficient preparation and smooth launch of the second phase of the project fully demonstrates CEEC's speed. Next, Songyuan City will accelerate the integrated development of the entire new energy industry chain, spearheaded by "Qingqing Hydrogen No. 1," and strive to build the core area of a national green energy industry hub. With utmost sincerity, optimal service, and strongest guarantees, CEEC will work together to transform its green resource advantages into industrial advantages and a winning edge for development.
The second phase of the project, which commenced construction today, is a large-scale expansion project that iterates upon and upgrades the first phase's demonstration and experimental results. Upon completion, it will be able to produce 90,000 tons of green hydrogen and 400,000 tons of green ammonia annually, both double the capacity of the first phase. Currently, the second phase project has obtained clean hydrogen certification from South Korea, and its products meet the EU ISCC EU sustainability certification standards.
On the same day, Hu Yuting and Ni Zhen held talks. Hu Yuting stated that Jilin is accelerating the construction of a national-level new energy base and the largest green hydrogen production base in China, and hopes that China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) will further expand its presence in Jilin based on the Songyuan project. Jilin Province will fully guarantee the key projects to reach full production capacity and be put into operation on schedule, focusing on project construction, preferential policies for enterprises, and resource guarantees, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results for both the local government and enterprises. Ni Zhen stated that CEEC will leverage its own advantages to promote the construction of the Songyuan project and its supporting infrastructure to a high standard and with high quality, while deepening cooperation with Jilin in the fields of energy and power, water conservancy, and energy storage, jointly conducting scientific research and talent training, and contributing CEEC's strength to Jilin's high-quality development.
Before the groundbreaking ceremony, Ni Zhen and his delegation investigated the operation of the first phase of the Songyuan project.
Hong Qing, member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary-General of the Jilin Provincial People's Government, heads of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and the Provincial Energy Bureau, Zhou Xiaoneng, Chief Economist and General Manager of the Market Development Department of China Energy Engineering Corporation, relevant heads of government departments, industry associations, financial institutions, and partner companies, and heads of relevant departments and units of China Energy Engineering Corporation participated in the event.
