Next Generation Scientists Dallas Hanks Memorial Fund
(The National Biodiesel Foundation) Brimming with visionary ideas, plant scientist and biofuels innovator Dallas Hanks had a knack for bringing stakeholders together to pursue a bigger picture. This treasured member of our biodiesel family succumbed to cancer June 25th, 2014, but not before sowing a solid legacy and passing the research reins to a new generation of scientists eager to chase his dream. The Burley, Idaho native, who earned master’s and doctoral degrees from Utah State University, pioneered the idea of growing biofuel feedstock plants on non-traditional agricultural land such as airports, military bases, and highway right of ways.
Everyone that met Dallas knew instantly he was a natural educator. In honor of his commitment to mentoring young minds, we have created a special fund that will help perpetuate Dallas’s vision and legacy. The Next Generation Scientists Dallas Hanks Memorial Fund will support initiatives Dallas started and innovations the next generation can imagine. READ MORE
