BioJet Fuel, Water and Food – Turf Feeding Systems Is Changing the Yucatan with a New Project

Submitted by on December 14, 2016 – 6:03 pmNo Comment

(Turf Feeding Systems/PR Web)  Turf Feeding Systems, a Houston company, is starting a new project and is contracted to design, build and manage the agriculture for a special BioJet fuel project in the Yucatan region of Mexico that is focused on BioJet fuel, water efficiency and food production.  —  The three most important elements in the world are – energy, water and food, and this project will encompass all three to create a uniquely sustainable high yield agriculture project for the Yucatan peninsula.

Turf Feeding Systems, a Houston company, is contracted with Zphere Works, a Mexico City company to design, build and manage an 80,000 acre Monarca plantation project in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico to produce seed oil from Jatropha plants to produce biojet fuel for Mexico’s aviation industry.

Turf Feeding Systems brings together, for the first time, products and technologies to create high yield hydroponic agriculture on mega scale field operations.

“Hydroponics is the high end of horticulture with high tech irrigation, fertigation and grow lighting to push greenhouse plant production to maximum limits. However, we are doing all that and more taking the crop out of the greenhouse and putting it on 80,000 acres to produce high yield crops for biojet fuel and food”, states Michael Chaplinsky, President of Turf Feeding Systems.

Chaplinsky continues, “We have a worldwide team of agronomists, engineers and scientist who open new pathways to grow plants and crops with yields of 50% to 100% over traditional field production. We are using proprietary irrigation, special fertigation and probiotic organics, which will reduce irrigation water 50%, reduce fertilizer and chemicals by 60% and produce ultra-high yield crop production”.

“The Monarca plantation will also incorporate satellite pastures, food crops and greenhouses for food production, as well as include a teaching center for rural farmers in the region. This project will become the cornerstone for a new sustainable agriculture model for the Yucatan peninsula”, states Chaplinsky.

“A research and development (R&D)center will be the first phase of the Monarca project, with a teaching and marketing center. The R&D center will have a complete genetic and testing laboratory, a hydroponic growing greenhouse and field testing of Jatropha and other crops. This will change agriculture and build the economy of the rural Yucatan peninsula,” Chaplinsky concludes.   READ MORE
