Petrobras, Fisheries Ministry Partner to Study Fish Oil Biodiesel

(Petrobras/ Biodiesel Magazine)  Petrobras Biofuel and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperative programs focused on the exploration and production of biodiesel from residual fish oil.

…The initiative is aligned with the Harvest Plan that aims at expansion of fishing activity and trade and aims to produce 2 million tons of fish by 2014. Petrobras Biofuel is already developing initiatives to evaluate the use of fish oil for biodiesel. One example is the partnership pilot project conducted with Biopeixe fish farmers of the region Jaguaribara, Ceará, for prospecting in Castanhão Dam.  READ MORE
