The Public Pulse: Investing in Biofuels Pays off

Pete Ricketts join us earlier this year to announce a $36 million expansion in Blair, Nebraska, where we’re pioneering technologies that will accelerate Nebraska’s leadership in renewable fuel production.

Part of what makes investments like these possible is the federal Renewable Fuel Standard, which opens the gasoline market to competition from clean, homegrown fuels.


That’s why we would like to thank Ricketts and U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer for their efforts to ensure that federal biofuel targets reflect the president’s long-standing commitment to homegrown fuels. Oil companies have been pushing the Environmental Protection Agency hard to roll back renewable fuel production, below 2017 levels. RFS cuts would not only stifle investment in the next generation of cellulosic ethanol but also would threaten the livelihoods of farmers across the heartland who supply grains and other feedstocks for renewable fuels.  READ MORE
