Punjab Govt Constitutes Task Force to Create Mechanism for Off-Take of Fermented Organic Manure from CBG Projects
(Punjab News Express) Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government has constituted a task force to discuss and create enabling mechanism for off-take of Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) generated from Compressed Biogas (CBG) projects based on agro-residue in the State, said Mr. Aman Arora, Minister for New and Renewable Energy Sources.
He said that the New and Renewable Energy Sources department has also issued a notification in this regard. Additional Chief Secretary, New & Renewable Energy Sources Mr. A Venu Prasad will be the Chairman of the task force, while, Additional Chief Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Mr. Sarvjit Singh has been appointed as the Co-Chairman and Director PEDA Mr. MP Singh will work as a Convener.
Notably, this task force will work under overall control of the Minister for New and Renewable Energy Sources, Punjab and the maiden meeting of the task force was convened on September 16.

Mr. Aman Arora said that the Mann Government will promote the utilization of FOM, produced by Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants, in Agriculture, Horticulture and Floriculture in the state. The use of FOM will enhance the nutrient uptake, growth, yield, nutrition efficiency, crop quality, besides helping local allied industries to flourish, he added. READ MORE
