Peloton Technologies Files Patent for Lignocellulose Technology that Increases Fuel Yields
by Isabel Lane (Biofuels Digest) In Ohio, Peloton Technologies has announced the filing of a US patent that alleviates problems associated with conversion of lignocellulose-derived sugars to biofuels and chemicals. Notably, inherent microbial inhibitory compounds which interfere with fermentation are generated along with sugars during biomass pretreatment.
Key components of the technology include:
• Robust tolerance to lignocellulose-derived microbial inhibitory compounds (LDMICS) by fermenting microorganisms.
• Processing step leading to detoxification of lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysates prior to fermentation is eliminated.
• Increased yields of biofuels and chemicals. READ MORE and MORE (Peloton Technologies)
