LanzaTech is #1!
(Lanza Tech) In Washington, LanzaTech took the #1 spot in the 2018 “50 Hottest Companies in the Advanced Bioeconomy” rankings, published in The Digest, the world’s most widely-read bioeconomy daily. It was the third year at the top for LanzaTech, which also ranked #1 in 2017 and 2015.
Amyris came it at #2 followed by Enerkem at #3.
Rounding out the top 10 were #10, Impossible Foods; #9, BASF; #8, POET-DSM; #7, Ginkgo Bioworks; #6, Genomatica; #5, Novozymes; #4, DSM
The annual rankings, which recognize innovation and achievement in fuels and integrated biorefinery development, are based on votes from an invited panel of distinguished international selectors and subscribers of The Digest.
Earlier in the day, LanzaTech CEO, Jennifer Holmgren received the Global Bioenergy Leadership Award, the first non-Government Official to win the award. The award, given in recognition of her leadership over more than 20years in the field of alternative fuels, was engraved with a greyhound, symbolic of how her work rescuing greyhounds from race tracks echoes that of her work at LanzaTech, rescuing single use carbon! A special carbon leadership talk, given at the ceremony, can be found here.
“With all the technologies in play today, it is truly an honor to be recognized by the Digest subscribers and the international panelists for our contributions to the advanced bioeconomy, especially in the year that we will operate our first commercial facility!” said Jennifer Holmgren, CEO of LanzaTech. “Creating a Carbon Smart future is no longer considered a fantasy and it is thanks to the efforts of the entire LanzaTech team and our global friends and partners that no carbon will be left behind. We are turning our carbon challenge into an opportunity!”
