Air BP Promotes Sustainable Aviation Fuel at Industry Event, Expands Offering to Swedish Airport
(Biofuels International) Aviation fuel provider Air BP has highlighted the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the recent NBAA-BACE industry event in Las Vegas, US. The company highlighted how solid waste from homes and businesses, including packaging, paper, textiles and food scraps that would otherwise go to landfill or incineration, can be converted into sustainable fuel for aircraft.
Air BP also announced the availability of SAF to general and business aviation customers, as well as aircraft manufacturers, at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden.
Derived from renewable and sustainable raw material, the fuel is made by producer Neste and supplied by Air BP. It is able to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% over its lifecycle, compared with conventional jet fuel.
Air BP and Neste inked a collaboration agreement in October last year to explore opportunities to increase the supply and availability of SAF for airline customers. READ MORE
