According to Bucher, ethanol production results in Dried Distilled Grain which is also high protein feed for cattle and hogs. DDG is fed to pigs and cows locally in a 60-mile radius. Consumers are buying more local meat because the feed we produce and the DDG never leaves our area.
According to Ken Parrent, Director of Biofuels, ICMC, ethanol-blended fuels produce at least 20 percent less greenhouse gas emissions, improve engine performance, and increase octane levels, all at a lower cost per gallon than non-blended gasoline. Parrent was there with the ICMC announcing the E-15 Fuel now available to most cars in the area.
