For now, we’re going to be tracking these on a weekly basis to keep pace with the changes. Here are the top innovations for the week of April 11th.

#1 USDA has no plans to regulate gene editing

USDA does not regulate or have any plans to regulate plants that could otherwise have been developed through traditional breeding techniques as long as they are not plant pests or developed using plant pests. 

#2 Pairwise raises $25 million to address global food challenges

Pairwise is an agricultural company bringing together leaders in agriculture and technology focused on using gene editing and leveraging natural diversity in agricultural crops to address global food challenges.
