Sept. 26 Ribbon Cutting for Selma Ethanol Project

(Johnstonian News)  The Town of Selma’s Planning and Economic Development Office, Johnston County’s Economic Development Office and the Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the Selma Ethanol Project on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. at Bailey Feed Mill, 404 E. Preston Street, Selma.

This innovative project is a partnership between Selma’s Bailey Feed Mill (BFM), Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and Kinder Morgan (KM) that will bring ethanol to the Selma market more efficiently and safely via an ethanol unit train-to-pipeline distribution system.

This project will reduce the ethanol delivery carbon footprint through a more efficient use of rail capacity and pipeline transportation. It will also reduce truck traffic and increase the overall safety around the community.

Furthermore, the project promotes the use of environmental friendly biofuels.  READ MORE
