(Iowa Governor Kim)Reynolds’ own Department of Natural Resources released its latest greenhouse gas emissions report last week, which concluded that Iowa produced a reckless 3.38% increase in emissions from 2017 to 2018, despite our much touted wind energy production and biofuels. (Yes, MidAmerican is cranking out record wind energy projections, but it also operates five huge coal-fired plants.)

If you visit the website of the Office of the Governor of Iowa, and type in the words “climate change,” you will receive this answer: “Your search yielded no results.”
That’s a fair assessment of Reynolds’ policies. And it’s tragic.

And Iowa’s ethanol industry took it on the chin last month, when Trump’s EPA betrayed Reynolds and farmers, and failed to include ethanol assurances in the Renewable Fuel Standard.
