Planet Forward Fall Storytelling Expeditions
(Planet Forward) Join Planet Forward staff for a trip to California or Rome for one of our fall storytelling expeditions! Travel and lodging is covered by sponsors for this trip and students are expected to contribute a story in any format, with guidance from Planet Forward staff, upon their return.
NEW! California: We’re looking for up to 8 students to travel to Woodland, Calif., from Aug. 15-18. Students will visit: a tomato processing plant, growers on their farms, and a research farm to talk to plant breeders. Students will be exploring food waste prevention from many angles, as well as nutrition issues tied to the methods used. DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 1
Rome: We’re looking for 3 students to travel with Planet Forward to the UN-Food and Agriculture Organization headquarters in Rome. Students will attend some of the Committee on Food Security Conference, held Oct. 15-20, and hosted around World Food Day. We anticipate students hearing from experts, as well as sharing their own innovative ideas with policymakers. DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 22
We encourage all majors — undergrad and grad students — to apply. (Please note: Only enrolled college students in the United States may apply.)
To be considered for either opportunity: Share a short piece on nutrition or food waste for the California trip, or an innovation to combat global hunger for Rome. These stories can be told
in any format — blog, video, podcast, etc. Send this, along with your resume, to editor@planetforward.org, by the deadlines mentioned above. READ MORE
