New Zealand Green Party Introduces Sustainable Biofuels Legislation
A bill introduced in the New Zealand Parliament re-instates the legal framework for selling sustainable biofuels in New Zealand without violating World Trade Organization obligations. It does not distinguish between imported and locally produced biofuel, but requires both to meet the sustainability standard which includes an international indirect land use change element.
