Nebraska Gas Stations Selling Ethanol Are Now Able to Apply for Tax Credit
(KETV) Nebraska stations selling ethanol gas can now apply for a tax break. State lawmakers passed the higher blend tax credit act in April.
The bill is combined with LB1261e which will give a credit of 5 cents on each gallon of E15 sold and 8 cents per gallon of E25 or higher blends sold to Nebraska gas retailers.
“They would see significant savings on their end that they could pass down to the consumer,” said Reid Wagner, the Nebraska Ethanol Board administrator.
The goal behind the bill is to keep it more affordable for retailers, who then are able to keep the price down for customers interested in buying the fuel.
