Company: New $15 Million Plant at Grain Facility in Owensboro Set for Fall Completion
(WCHS/Associated Press) Work on a new $15 million glycerin refinery at Owensboro Grain Co.’s facility is set for completion by the fall and in full production by January.
Company Vice President John Wright told the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer that the facility will turn pure glycerin into a variety of uses in cosmetics, personal care, industrial and pharmaceutical uses.
Gov. Steve Beshear announced last March that the state’s Agricultural Processing Loan Program had approved a $1.5 million loan for the refinery, which is being built next to the company’s 6-year-old biodiesel plant. READ MORE
