College Professor Patents Products that Could Change the Way Biofuels React to the Elements

That product could make the fuels more popular in cold northern climes.
Traditional biofuels — the type of diesel made from vegetable oil, for instance — become gelatinous when exposed to oxygen and the sunlight. But Presentation College associate chemistry professor Rick Peterson has figured out that adding an ethyl alcohol breaks up the fuel’s molecular structure, which helps stop the thickening process.
