September 15–18, 2025
- Monday, September 15: Afternoon Workshops
- Tuesday, September 16 – Wednesday, September 17: Full conference days featuring keynotes, breakout sessions (including five concurrent technical tracks), an award ceremony, receptions, and an open exhibitor hall.
- Thursday, September 18: Optional Field Trips
Location: Minneapolis Convention Center, Minneapolis, MN, USA
Thanks for your interest in submitting an abstract. To ensure a cohesive and high-quality conference, we’ve developed the following submission guidelines. These are designed to help you prepare an abstract that clearly communicates your ideas, aligns with the conference theme, and resonates with our audience.
The following are general topic categories to guide your submission and help structure the conference.
Topic Categories:
- Biochar Feedstocks: Foundations for Success
- Scaling Biochar: Production Technologies, Logistics, and Operations
- Biochar in Infrastructure: Sustainable Urban and Built Environments
- Agricultural and Forestry: Driving Production and Use
- Carbon Markets and Climate Mitigation: Unlocking Biochar’s Decarbonization Potential
- Building the Biochar Industry: Business Models, Finance, and Market Development
We encourage you to use your best judgment in selecting the category that best aligns with your submission. If your abstract highlights a critical aspect of the biochar industry that doesn’t align perfectly with any of the listed categories, we still welcome your submission and value its contribution to advancing the industry.
Session Types:
- Breakout/Technical (25 minutes)
- Each concurrent session is 25 minutes long, consisting of a 20-minute presentation followed by a 5-minute Q&A. Sessions are grouped by topic.
- 1/2 Day Workshops
- Monday afternoon only. Longer, more interactive, multiple speakers & organizations.
- Panel Discussion
- Multiple presenters and organizations, breakout or mainstage options.
- Poster Only Presentions
- A physical poster will be required, and an option for a 5-minute pitch.
