CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Sardinia 2023 — October 9-12, 2023 — Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy DEADLINE February 10, 2023

Following the success of the previous edition, which saw the enthusiastic participation of 354 delegates from 46 countries, we are pleased to announce SARDINIA 2023 – 19th International Symposium on Waste Management and Sustainable Landfilling to be held in person from 9th to 13th October 2023 in the traditional venue of the Forte Village Resort in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy.
The Sardinia Symposia are a biennial event organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG), with the scientific support of the Universities of Padova, BOKU and the Technical Universities of Luleå and Hamburg.
Founded in 1987, the conference usually gathers more than 700 participants from all around the world, with more than 400 papers presented at each edition, making the Sardinia Symposium the most important solid waste management conference in the world.
The 18th edition held in 2021 was delivered in a hybrid format and, after these challenging 2 years, the Symposium is now back to its traditional format, face-to-face, in person. All the speakers will deliver their presentation in person and delegates will experience all the usual highlights of Sardinia Symposia including leading keynote presentations, parallel oral sessions, workshops, active labs and other practical activities, discussion forums, poster presentations, commercial exhibition, b2b meetings, outstanding networking opportunities and exciting social events!
Have you ever attended our conference? Relive the best moments of Sardinia 2021, a very special edition!
Abstracts (at least one but no more than two full pages) should be prepared using the abstract template and submitted using the online form. Abstracts must address one of the conference topics and clearly describe the content of presentations and their basis (detailed case study, discussion of experience from practice, preliminary research data, completed research not presented previously, review of literature, administrative initiatives and regulations, etc). Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 10th February 2023
The official language of the Symposium is English and all abstracts must therefore be written and presented in English. In addition, the Symposium will arrange a session to be held entirely in Italian, in order to facilitate the participation of local delegates. Italian authors may freely submit abstracts for inclusion in both English and Italian sessions.
All final papers accepted to Sardinia 2023 will be published on a dedicated set of proceedings (CISA Publisher, ISBN classification). Additionally, a considerable number of leading papers selected by the Symposium Scientific Committee will be processed, eventually following revision and updating, for publication on special thematic issues on international renowned journals.
Other accepted papers, featuring a more practical orientation, may be considered for publication on IWWG Monographs on selected conference topics (CISA Publisher, ISBN classification). READ MORE
