Cabinet Approves New Guide for Biofuels Policy
by Khulekani Magubane (Fin24) Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu told reporters on Tuesday morning that Cabinet approved the biofuels regulatory framework, as a policy which will guide the implementation of government’s biofuel industrial strategy.
Mthembu was speaking to reporters in Pretoria, briefing them on the outcomes of last week’s Cabinet meeting.

Excerpt from Caemer Media’s Engineering News: The framework provides areas to be regulated, namely the feedstock protocol, which mitigates the risk of the biofuels programme towards food security, and the mandatory blending regulations, so as to create certainty of biofuels demand, as well as the cost recovery mechanism for blending of biofuels.
