Binatural Expands teh Use of Pure Biofuel in Road Transport Operation in Its Own Fleets and Transport Companies

(Binatural/PetroNoticias) Binatural, one of the largest biodiesel producers in the country, is expanding the use of pure biofuel (B100) in road transport operations involving its own fleet, partner carriers, and clients. These initiatives are expected to prevent the emission of more than 1,600 tons of CO₂ over three years, according to a methodology based on the GHG Protocol , a volume equivalent to planting approximately 35,000 trees. The experience gained in these operations also led the company to join the Brazilian Green Logistics Program (PLVB), an initiative focused on advancing sustainability in Brazilian logistics. This strategy is supported by the environmental performance of the biodiesel produced by the company. Binatural registers a carbon intensity of 5.25 g CO₂eq/MJ, approximately 94% lower than the approximately 87 g CO₂eq/MJ of fossil diesel. The company also has an Energy-Environmental Efficiency Score (NEEA) of 81.25 in RenovaBio, indicators that reinforce the contribution of biofuel to reducing emissions in applications that require decarbonization solutions available on a large scale.

Joining the PLVB (Voluntary Use of Biodiesel) program is another step within a decarbonization strategy that goes beyond biodiesel production and seeks to incorporate biofuel into the company's own activities. In addition to on-road experiences, Binatural uses biodiesel in generators installed at its two units, demonstrating the viability of the solution in stationary applications as well. This experience reinforces a front that can be replicated in different sectors through the voluntary use of biodiesel, including generators, data centers, railway, maritime, mining operations, and other diesel-intensive activities. “Binatural doesn't just intend to produce a low-carbon biofuel. We want to demonstrate its practical application, starting with our own operations and building solutions alongside transport companies and clients. B100 is already available, has scale, and can immediately contribute to reducing emissions in sectors that still heavily depend on fossil diesel,” says André Lavor, CEO and co-founder of Binatural.

Managed by the Brazilian Institute for Sustainable Transport (IBTS), the PLVB brings together shippers, carriers, logistics operators, and solution providers committed to adopting good environmental, social, and governance practices. The program promotes the exchange of experiences, the training of companies, and the development of benchmarks to reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions in logistics operations. For Binatural's Logistics area, participation in the program creates an opportunity to share the knowledge acquired on routes with B100 and improve the measurement of its impacts. “ Joining the PLVB will allow us to exchange experiences with other agents in the logistics chain, improve the monitoring of results, and contribute to the learning we are building in the use of pure biodiesel under real operating conditions ,” explains Roger Luna , Planning and Commercial Supply Coordinator at Binatural.

One of the company's main initiatives is the 100% Sustainable Route, which uses a DAF XF 530 truck fueled exclusively with biodiesel to transport raw materials used in the production of the biofuel itself. With this, Binatural incorporates the renewable solution into a strategic stage of its supply chain and demonstrates, in practice, its application in regular cargo operations. Another initiative involves a Volvo FH500 flex truck that operates between Paraná, Goiás, and São Paulo. This initiative allows for monitoring the performance of biodiesel on a continuous interstate route, expanding the knowledge base about its use in different road conditions and contributing to the increased use of biodiesel in the Brazilian energy matrix.

Binatural has also incorporated biodiesel into its own vehicle. In 2025, a company truck traveled approximately 2,000 kilometers between Formosa (GO) and Belém (PA) during COP30, virtually zeroing its emissions. After completing the journey, the vehicle remains in operation in Goiás, allowing for the evaluation of the renewable fuel's performance under regular working conditions. By combining low-carbon biodiesel, concrete experiences with B100, and applications ranging from roads to the generators of its industrial unit, Binatural seeks to demonstrate that decarbonization can advance with solutions already available. Adherence to the PLVB (Brazilian Biodiesel Voluntary Program) integrates this strategy and expands the space for sharing results, developing new benchmarks, and stimulating the voluntary use of biodiesel in sectors where emission reductions can begin now.
