Refiners Bummed RFS Reset Rule Withdrawn

The agency said it needs to consider more options, Eric reported. One refining industry source said USDA, which has been a vociferous advocate for biofuels producers, expressed outrage over the proposal during the interagency process so the rule got pulled.
“Unfortunately it’s a missed opportunity to address the multitude of widely acknowledged problems with the RFS program, including the need to reduce mandated volumes to bring them in line with the realities of today’s fuels market,” Geoff Moody, vice president of Government Relations for the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers, told ME in a statement.
