Canadian Biodiesel Producer Planning Production Facility in Bayonne
by Andrew Steadman (The Jersey Journal) Canadian biodiesel company BIOX Corporation has signed an agreement with the International-Matex Tank Terminals company to build a new, 100 million liter production facility in Bayonne.
The planned facility, slated for a December 2013 opening, will be located on the existing IMTT property in Bayonne, with a long-term land lease agreement and long-term leases on existing IMTT storage tanks.
…Clinning said the facility will add 35 full-time jobs to Bayonne, along with 200 temporary construction jobs during the building of the facility.
The facility will occupy 3.5 acres of the 600-acre IMTT facility. Clinning said the Bayonne location in the New York Harbor is optimal for the company’s strategy of building biodiesel production facilities near existing large-scale petroleum storage and diesel distribution infrastructure. BIOX is currently Canada’s largest biodiesel producer, with a 50 million liter production facility located in Ontario.
