Aviation Carbon 2013 February 19-20 London, UK

Organised by GreenAir Online, VerifAvia and Green Aviation, this event follows the successful inaugural Aviation Carbon 2012, which attracted over 300 delegates from 62 countries worldwide, including representatives from more than 100 airlines and business jet operators. This was the first time the aviation industry had gotten together with the carbon sector in a major forum to discuss and learn about carbon trading. In addition to a panel session of airline, carbon trading, legal and European Commission representatives, delegates heard updates, knowledge and advice from experts on how emissions trading under the EU ETS and the carbon market work.
The 2013 event will be perfectly timed as operators within the EU scheme are required for the first time to submit by the end of April 2013 allowances to cover their 2012 emissions. This will also be an important year for international aviation as ICAO attempts to reach a global agreement on limiting the growth of aviation emissions at its triennial Assembly in late 2013.
