Sapp Bros. Opens New Biodiesel Fuel Center
by Eric McKay (Sand Hills Express) Northeast Nebraska’s biodiesel footprint is getting larger. Sapp Bros. held an open house Wednesday to celebrate the activation of their new 30,000-gallon biodiesel tank located along Highway 81 just north of Norfolk.
Company officials say the tank will be filled with B100 fuel made predominantly with soybean stock. Sapp Bros. Petroleum president Andy Richard said the tank makes sense for northeast Nebraska.
“We produce a lot of soybeans and that’s the predominant stock that makes this product,” Richard said. “So we’re producing what we’re consuming.”
That’s music to the ears of area soybean farmers, who have been touting the benefits of biodiesel fuels for a while. READ MORE includes VIDEO
