RFA Says Ethanol Can Fill Fuel Need With Refining Capacity Down
(WNAX Radio) Hurricane Harvey’s devastation in Texas has negatively impacted the nation’s oil refining capacity. Renewable Fuel Association President and CEO Bob Dinneen says the ethanol industry has the fuel to fill that supply need if the EPA would expand a fuel waiver to allow higher blends of ethanol to be offered.
He says his group wrote to the agency asking for that waiver.
Dinneen says they’ll keep pushing their case forward with the EPA asking for that waiver.
About 12 percent of refining capacity has been shut down due to Hurricane Harvey which has driven up gas prices as much as eight percent and those prices could go even higher as more refining capacity is impacted by the storm. READ MORE includes AUDIO
