Helsinki Airport Goes Solar
by Carl Johannes Muth (PV Magazine) … The European airport companies have committed to reach 100 carbon-neutral airports in Europe by 2030. Finavia, which is a key party to this commitment, aims at reducing its carbon footprint on all of the company’s 21 airports to zero by 2020. To do so, the finnish airport operator plans to employ geothermal heat, wind power, LED lights and bio energy at its airports to meet the target.
With the new solar arrays and the use of biofuel for all ground vehicles, Finavia expects to reach those goals at Helsinki airport already by the end of this year. READ MORE and MORE (GreenAir Online)
