CBDA to Source Jatropha Seeds for Bio-Diesel Plant
(The Pioneer) The Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority (CBDA) will be sourcing huge amount of Jathropha curcas seed (Ratanjot) for its bio-diesel manufacturing plant in Raipur.
Notably, the CBDA has produced more than 180,000 litres of semi-finished biofuel from its pilot scale production plant in Raipur by procuring Jatropha seeds from within the State, officials stated.
Since its inception, the CBDA has carried out plantation of more than 1.50 crore Jatropha saplings in revenue wasteland throughout the State.
The initiative has increased the green cover of the State while generating rural livelihood opportunities in remote villages.

Chhattisgarh produced 527.63 lakh cubic meters of bio-gas from family type bio-gas plants and large bio-gas plants in the entire State during the 11th Five Year Plan period. READ MORE
