(Novozymes) The United States has a lot riding on the success of its biofuel industry – energy independence, job creation, and environmental stewardship. America is not looking for new energy solutions for the fun of it. It is looking because the future demands it.
President Barack Obama summed it up in a sentence from his 2011 State of the Union Address: “With more research and incentives, we can break our dependence on oil with biofuels.”
Like President Obama, Novozymes believes that biofuels need to play an even larger role in the US energy mix than they do today. In fact, Novozymes has spent the last three decades deep in the trenches of the industry, together with its partners and customers, producing enzymes that not only improve the production of existing biofuels but have also helped start a completely new industry – ellulosic ethanol.
…As the world’s leading provider of enzymes for the biofuel industry, Novozymes has a lot of knowledge and experience to share and plays an active role in the industry whenever possible. As a member of both the Growth Energy and RFA organizations, the company supports vital efforts to educate, promote, and publicize the positive attributes of biofuels. And to make sure that the policy-makers on Capitol Hill have the correct facts about biofuels, Novozymes employs two full-time Government Relations Managers.
According to Jack Rogers: “The US biofuel industry is extremely complex, and there are important questions that require a thoughtful debate. Some issues have been blown out of proportion and others are constantly revisited – like urban legends – but a candid dialogue based on sound science and experience is what Novozymes brings to the table.” READ MORE
