These are the reasons the world needs Advanced Biofuels

“The goal of Advanced Biofuels USA,” said founder Joanne Ivancic, “is to show the American people, decision-makers and opinion leaders that US farmers, researchers and industry can produce sustainable and economical biofuels that will directly replace all types of transportation fuels including gasoline and jetfuel, and thus will provide for energy security, military strategic flexibility, climate change mitigation and rural economic development.”

“With the 2007 Energy Bill calling for a minimum of 21 Billion gallons of Advanced Biofuels by 2022, the time has come for the development of an economically and environmentally sustainable advanced biofuels industry,” continued Joanne. “We have a long way to go. Farmers will have to adopt new energy crops, new conversion processes have to be perfected, and existing agricultural processing plants and ethanol refineries will have to be updated. With exciting research already started, I believe this can happen.”

Advanced Biofuels USA will help the public understand how individuals, researchers, farm coops, start-up companies, large producers and others involved in the wide variety of work necessary to create advanced biofuels are working together to advance their common goals. Action on energy initiatives will be hot and heavy over the coming years. “This is the time to lay the ground work,” said Joanne. “We want to make sure decision-makers and the public hear the stories of farmers, foresters, processors, and researchers involved with advanced biofuels,” she continued, “Development of advanced biofuels is not only essential to meeting the challenge of ‘20 by 20’ but more important, is critical to rebuilding the US economy.”

Advanced Biofuels USA is a Maryland nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to promote public understanding, acceptance, and use of advanced biofuels; to promote research, development and improvement of advanced biofuels technologies, production, marketing and delivery; and to promote the sustainable development, cultivation and processing of advanced biofuels crops, and agricultural and forestry residues and wastes.
