Ethanol Editorial Misses the Point

by Alvin L. Moser (St. Augustine Record)  Editor: The editorial in the July 27 issue of The St. Auustine Record from The Chicago Tribune misses the whole point of adding ethanol to gasoline. Of course cost is important, but what is more important is that ethanol produced in this country provides multi-faceted benefits to our own economy; reduces imports, reduces negative trade-balances, creates jobs instead of exporting them, provides opportunites for our own farmers.

…Do we really want more BP type episodes? Do we really want to send our dollars to countries that use these funds against us? It’s time to declare our “independence” from foreign oil.”  READ MORE
