Dynamic Recycling LLC Could Locate in Bristol Tennessee

by Rober Brown (Bristol Herald Courier/Tricities.com)  Bristol, Va., officials might have turned down the relocation of an ethanol plant in their city, but the facility is very much wanted in Bristol, Tenn., City Manager Jeff Broughton said.

The former Armour Foods processing plant in Bristol, Tenn., is among a handful sites under consideration for the proposed ethanol plant, Dynamic Recycling LLC, which sparked controversy earlier this year when it sought approval to locate in the former Crowley Foods facility near the Bristol Mall on Gate City Highway.

That site’s proximity to adjacent residential neighborhoods raised concerns among council members, nearby businesses and residents. But the site being considered on the Tennessee side of town is in an industrial park, on North Industrial Drive.

Operated by MXI Environmental Services of Washington County, Va., the recycling plant would distill liquid raw materials such as oil, stale beverages, perfumes and other consumer products into ethanol. READ MORE and MORE (1/9/2013 update)
