Already, notable advances in sustainable palm oil supply, cellulosic ethanol production, and biofuels from coastal saline cash crops promise a breakthrough year for Asian biofuels. Yet escalating food prices, a major earthquake and floods in Pakistan and rising sea levels globally remind us of the many challenges we have yet to overcome.
