Bioplastics and Green Composites Workshop March 31-April 1 Guelph, Ontario

It is estimated that the global bioplastics marketis growing at more than 25% per year and expertspredict that bioplastic production will exceed 50-billion pounds per year by 2015.

This timely workshop will examine some of the most recent discoveries in bio-based materials, chemicals and fuels and present exciting case studies from industry leaders such as Mazda Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company, DSM and DuPont. Experts from academia and industry will present their latest findings and developments in this ever evolving industry.

Technical presentations will address:

  • Renewable plastics
  • Natural fibre composites: truly green composites and biocomposites
  • Renewable non-biodegradable plastics
  • Petroleum-based biodegradable plastics
  • Sustainability, market analysis and policy aspects of bio-based materials
