Biomass: From Grow to Go October 24-25, 2012 Vonore, TN

A University of Tennessee field day and workshop event

Biomass is rapidly becoming a leading source of clean, renewableenergy.  This free two-day event will feature independent programs on biomass production and utilization.  The purpose of the event is to bring together biomass farm, industry, and research professionals in order share information, expertise, and experience in a highly educational but informal field day setting.

Anyone currently involved in or interested in feedstock production for biomass and/or biofuel industries is encouraged to attend.  A wide variety of tour topics will include something for everyone ranging from technical presentations on biofuel production to practical tips on how to make money growing switchgrass for biomass.

Farmers will be introduced to production methods, both traditional and innovative throughout the course of this program.  By seeing and participating in production of switchgrass, sorghum, and miscanthus, the comparison of varieties, harvesting and logistics, and other aspects of biomass, attendees will be gaining a unique first-hand knowledge that will position them to capitalize on the developing industry.

Hear from biomass experts, see demonstrations of production equipment, tour switchgrass fields and variety trials and see commercial-scale biomass processing and handling at Tennessee’s Biomass Innovation Park.  READ MORE
