Bihas Chief Minister Demands Withdrawal of Ethanol Limiting Order

In a letter addressed to PM Manmohan Singh, a day after he assumed office for the second consecutive term, chief minister Nitish Kumar has demanded favourable consideration of state’s pending requests,  …   Nitish also demanded the withdrawal of the order which permitted only existing sugar mills to produce ethanol directly from sugar cane. He pointed out that proposals for 23 new sugar mills and mega projects for production of ethanol with an investment of over five billion US dollars was approved by the state government. But the dreams were shattered when the Centre issued an order prohibiting production of ethanol.  READ MORE
