Aviation Biofuel World Leaders BioJet and JATRO Sign Major Collaboration Agreement
(BioJet) JATRO AG today (September 25, 2012) announced formation of a major Horizontal Collaboration Agreement with BioJet International Ltd.
The intended horizontal collaboration between the Companies in the format of a Strategic Alliance is meant to create a joint basis for a mutually beneficial business operation across global markets, technologies and geographies, translating into competitive advantages and additional commercial opportunities for each Company and its respective legal entities as well as for both Companies as a common consortium.
To drive the commercialization of sustainable plant oil and bio-kerosene production the Companies intend to:
complement each other’s activities, including but not limited to feedstock development and supply, crushing and refining technology solutions, network integration, logistics and funding efforts;
synchronize their collective and cooperative commercialization efforts;
coordinate joint marketing and pitching events; and
grant to each other mutual aggregator functionality for services, functions, technology and other deliverables that will serve and/or intend to:
o achieve operational efficiencies and savings beyond what either party can achieve on its own;
o increase the ability to secure reliability of supply by tapping into multiple and geographically diverse sources of bio-feedstock;
o facilitate financing and investment;
o leverage components of existing infrastructure/ alliances;
o facilitate bundling of feedstock, goods, technology and services while saving on common costs;
o add value to each other’s proprietary business deliverables and offerings;
o improve marketing effectiveness and profitability of the overall supply chain.
JATRO started life as an aviation biofuel Jatropha feedstock developer. Today, the firm’s business spans the entire biofuel value chain including the breeding and selection of suitable feedstock, cultivation and plantation management, proprietary oil extraction and
filtering technology as well as refining operations, scientific expertise, logistics, sustainability certification, distribution and eventual end use by the aviation sector worldwide.
The Company was instrumental in providing sustainable feedstock for the 1,200 Lufthansa biofuel flights which took place 2011-2012. JATRO’s key plantation sites are located in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, , Malaysia and Laos. Suitable land plots have also been secured and are accessible for full integration in, Madagascar, Mozambique, Tanzania, Ghana, Mexico, Guatemala, Panama and Brazil.
