Alganomics in Southport Receives ‘Green’ Grant from North Carolina

by Jim Brumm (Star News)  The governor’s office said that Alganomics is one of 18 small companies that will receive grants to develop and market promising green and alternative energy technologies and products.  Alganomics will receive $59,500 to support its efforts to commercialize algae bioproducts, the governor’s news release said, citing potential byproducts of biofuel production, including fertilizer, animal feed, and cellulose for ethanol production, medical-grade agar, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals.  … Alganomics and the town of Oak Island have formed a collaborative partnership for an algae culturing system demonstration site to be located at the Oak Island Wastewater Treatment Facility.  READ MORE
