$4.3 Million to Be Invested in Shrub Willow Growth for Renewable Fuel

(Observer-Dispatch)  The U.S. Department of Agriculture will invest $4.3 million to ReEnergy and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry to encourage growth of shrub willow as a renewable energy fuel, according to a news release.

The funds — made available by USDA Biomass Crop Assistance Program — will support the growth of willow on farmland across Central New York and the North Country, including farms in Oneida and Oswego counties.  READ MORE
